Collezione Marine Drive

An exclusive 8-piece furniture collection inspired by Mumbai’s Art Deco architecture, created in collaboration with award-winning Italian designer Mario Gagliardi.

The initial concepts, designs and basic specifications were provided by Mario. I was responsible for modifications and production of these products. I worked closely with Mario to furthur modify the products based on the production capabilites of Indian Handicrafts. I modified the designs, created final spec sheets including crafts detailing and production techniques and also assisted on various photoshoots for this range.

01. Citta cabinets

Inspired by Mumbai’s Art Deco architecture along Marine Drive, the Città Cabinet reflects the city's iconic aesthetic. Initially, tightly packed cubes made door opening difficult, so I suggested adding 5mm silicon buffers for smoother functionality. I also created detailed 1:1 craft pattern drawings and provided full specs, including wood thickness and finish details.

Wood veneers were hand cut, assembled, and stained differently to achieve this effect

Embossed thin sheets of brass, usually 34 gauge, made by hammering over patterned dyes.

02. Nuvole Shelf

Nuvole's distinct voice and design is inspired by the clouds afloat in the Mumbai sky. It draws its calm from the city's seascape and its magic from artisanal Indian art. I produced 1:1 drawings for the wooden parts, as well as detailed

descriptions for the fitment and hardware employed internally.
